Silicon Nitride Powder (CAS: 12033-89-5) is a black-gray powder that is an important structural ceramic material with the following characteristics and applications:

Characteristics

  1. High Hardness: Silicon nitride powder is very hard.
  2. Inherent Lubricity: It has natural lubricating properties.
  3. Wear Resistance: It is highly resistant to wear.
  4. Oxidation Resistance at High Temperatures: It can resist oxidation at high temperatures.
  5. Resistance to Thermal Shock: It can withstand rapid heating and cooling without breaking, even when heated to above 1000°C in air and then rapidly cooled and reheated.
